Today marks 2 years that my beautiful baby girl was diagnosed with Meningococcal Meningitis. She was only 6 months old at the time. She went through so much. Between fevers, seizures, blisters throughout her entire body, CPAP machine, heavy pain medication, acute kidney failure, blood transfusions, and most of all losing her legs and parts of her finger tips on her left hand was more than any baby should ever have to go through. Seeing my child scream in pain for weeks in the hospital was unbearable. Doctors gave her a 10% to make it through the first day. But she was a fighter and fought through all of these battles. She is my hero and my inspiration. She's gone through such hard times and yet she is the happiest child I have ever seen. We've had wonderful doctors that saved her life at Danville Geisinger and wonderful doctors and surgeons at Lehigh Valley Cedar Crest. There was so much heartache thinking I'd never see my child walk but my angel has proved me wrong in so many ways. Finally seeing her sit up on her own than crawling than walking turned into running on her knees and finally now she has mastered walking with her prosthetics with her walker has all made me overjoyed. Watching her grow and progress has been a beautiful experience. We have had so many people help along the way. Between the amazing people that have organized fundraisers to having an awesome support system. To the people that have been there for day and to the people that have come into our lives recently I just want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart. You all have made such a difference in our lives. I am so blessed to have this amazing, strong, and loving child. I love you pumpkin butt. #thefuture #resilient #liveinspired #prosthetics #thrive #amputee #amputeelife #proudmom #mylife #mysunshine #myprincess #meningitissurvivor
